The Sage Assembly Experience

Attending an Open Assembly is a unique experience.  From the structured part of the conference, you can expect rapid-fire project descriptions ranging from open genomic data sharing to novel education methods to in-depth keynotes on how data drives tornado models and micro lending. But you can also expect to be turned out of the conference hall into the host city and asked to interact directly with other attendees, with local citizens, with nature, with data, with your own personal aspirations.

This is not a normal conference. You can expect sustained opportunities for informal engagement through our receptions and break times, and you can expect to be called to the podium to speak. We provide nearly every attendee, from Nobel laureates to children, the opportunity to step forward and tell their story through the context of that year’s Assembly theme. The agenda is curated around a careful narrative arc, aimed to create both short-term and long-term change for participants.
